If the cost and PXI system requirement are a concern, then you may want to consider other data acquisition and control devices that offer similar performance at a lower cost.
Up for sale is a National instruments ni PXI-8176 embedded controller unit. We installed this unit in a pxi chassis not included and powered it on. The unit does have a 512mb ram module installed, and no hard drive is installed. We did notice the trig port seems to be a bit bent/dented as well see last picture.
Cosmetically, the unit does show some signs of use and wear such as scratches scuff marks dirt/dust. Includes the ni PXI-8176 unit only, no other parts are included.
